Couture Mode

















That is what my shirt says; "Couture Mode".  Couture refers to a custom design shop and Mode is a word meaning manner or method.  When I was a kid we shopped at a store called Mode o' Day.  I often think of that store when I hear the word mode.  Okay.  Now I see why these two words are on my outfit.  It is one of those subliminal messages again.  I hope combining the print with the stripes and the green cowgirl boots and the blue and white stripes, is an acceptable pattern mixing method or mode from my own little thrifty corner of couture mode.

  5. I REMEMBER MODE 'O DAY! I REMEMBER IT WELL! Oh my dear, aren't you just LOVELY this morning! I absolutely LOVE this style with the cowboy boots and a skirt. This is what I just love to wear! I have the boots, I have the little jacket and even the skirt...I have to wait however until we warmm up a bit; yesterday it was -7. I work today, so I am wearing wool as I go out into the icy breath of morning! YOU LOOK FABULOUS and good deals, too! Anita

  9. Good Afternoon Renae, I feel you need your own television programme to spread the word about shopping for a bargain, as all the outfits you have shown us have been such bargains. I have never worn cowboy....ooops.....cowgirl boots, but that is mainly due to where I live. I do wear leather boots in the winter, and I tend to wear trousers. I wear lots of skirts in the summer though. I love the way you have put your outfit together and you look very happy yourself.

  14. We used to shop at Mode o' Day too, Renae!! It was part of the whole going "downtown" to go shopping adventure that I loved as a kid.

    I love your boots! They kick some serious fashion tail-and just when I think you can't possibly be any more adorable in your thrifty finds, you go all cute and cowgirl! I'm from Ellensburg, after all. I know about these things:) xx

    That smile gets me every time....you are just so happy and I thank you for always being there to make ME smile. Burrrr....you too are having such frigid weather too my dear? This beautiful photo shoot had to be done very quickly then! TOday it was...get this.......-2 degrees. I wore TWO COATS, LEGGINGS and get this......TWO SKIRTS and a wool sweater! I was teaching and I took off some layers but to go outside, my goodness.

    I am staying home tomorrow in my comfy house and draw.
